We quickly became one of the top 100 most downloaded Google Play apps in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and as of recently, Europe. As we grow our users, launch new games and gain popularity in new regions, our data and our need for insights grows as well. This is where you come in! Joining JustPlay at a very exciting time to define the data vision and turn the large amount of data we’ve been collecting over the years into strategic insights.

As a Senior Data Engineer at JustPlay, you’ll be responsible for maintaining our data warehouse, developing data management systems and pipelines and supplying key stakeholders with the data they need effectively and efficiently. You will collaborate closely with Software Engineering and Business Intelligence and bridge the gap between the core business needs and the technical capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

Leverage your technical expertise to support the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure
Write maintainable, performant code and participate in code review effort
Collaborate (both asynchronous and synchronous) with other functions to ensure data needs are addressed
Create and maintain architecture and systems documentation
Research and develop the most suitable methods to extract/transform/serve data from and to various sources
Develop and maintain data quality standards and optimize data performance and scalability
Ability to learn and experiment with new technologies and concepts to improve overall team performance and data stack

The experience we hope you bring to JustPlay

You have 6+ years of professional experience in Data/BI Engineering
You have 3+ years of experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Proficient in programming and data manipulation languages Python and SQL
Good understanding of software engineering principles (e.g. Git, Docker, code testing)
Experience with reporting tools (Looker or similar)
Experience in collaborating with Business Intelligence/Analytics stakeholders in providing them with the right data they need and data modelling
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
